Jon Gruden’s sin

Last night, the Raiders reported that Jon Gruden resigned as head coach with a seemingly smooth quote:

That last phrase there packs a real punch though, “I never meant to hurt anyone.” It speaks to the sinfulness of Gruden’s actions. The Apostle defines sin as exactly that: actions not matching our intentions, “I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.” (Romans 7:15)
